Mission of the MS Jewish Studies Department

The Jewish Studies Department seeks to develop students, who possess a love of learning, “Torah lishma,” who identify with the Jewish people through our sacred texts, and who are inspired to interpret these texts to find personal meaning.  Through Jewish literacy, our students become the next link in the chain of tradition. 

By culminating each unit with a performance-based assessment, our students connect texts to authentic experiences and prepare to be future leaders of the Jewish community with the highest ethical and moral standards.
