Make a gift to Milken

Science Department - Mission In Action

If you were to wander through a few science classes at Milken, you would see students engaged in a variety of learning activities. They may be conducting a Town Meeting to discuss the causes of a fish kill in their community. They may be debating the pros and cons of stem cell research. Students may be seen carrying out experiments, often of their own design, to answer a question or verify a scientific concept. They may be taking measurements and calculating the speeds of cars on the 405. Students use technology on a regular basis. They create videos of projects they have designed and created; they produce screen casts to explain difficult physics concepts to their peers, and they build online simulations to better visualize a biological or chemical process. Students in the Science Department are actively engaged, learning in a multitude of ways at Milken Community High School.
